Just a matter of time
It looks like Pa has lost the battle with cancer and will be resting at home under the care of hospice and family. We expect to have him home before Xmas. He has no pain but wishes for a quick end to his discomfort. He seems at peace with his situation and certainly has the family at his side. Just yesterday we were all recollecting Pa's goodness and the fine times we have had. It's Pa's gift to all of us--good memories and no regrets.

Cyberknife Update
Well, we got back from D.C. and completed the cyberknife surgery only to have Pa come home and get hospitalized with dehdration and a broncial infection--he's in the hospital now. Appears to be recovering but no idea when he will be released. The family plans to meet with hospice soon to get the low down on the services they provide. We hope for the best but are preparing for whatever comes our way. The good news is Pa's gut pain has subsided from the cyberknife treatment. If he's up to it upon release we will look into chemo for the liver cancer. More later ....

Update
Pa and I are headed to D.C. today for his cyberknife treatments--three in all. Unfortunately his cancer has spread to his liver--4 spots in all. He will be going back on chemo when he returns. The cyberknife should put the pancreatic tumor on hold and hopefully reduce his gut pain while we work on the liver spots. Will be discussing Pa's situation with the cyberfolks to see if they can do anything for it. Pa's up for taking on this challenge--we pray for the best.
